Functional requirements:​

  • Stock and cryptocurrency prices by symbol

    • Service should be able to provide current market value of a stock or cryptocurrency given its symbol.

  • Query for market capitalization and volume

    • Service should be able to provide current market capitalization and volume of a stock or cryptocurrency given its symbol.

  • Historical prices over a given time frame

    • Service should be able to provide historical price data of a stock or cryptocurrency given its symbol and a time frame.

  • Query for open, high, low and close prices

    • Service should be able to provide open, high, low and close prices of a stock or cryptocurrency given its symbol.

  • Dividend information

    • Service should be able to provide dividend information of a stock or cryptocurrency given its symbol.

  • Query for news and press releases

    • Service should be able to provide news and press releases related to a stock or cryptocurrency given its symbol.

  • Market indices –

    • Service should be able to provide values and data for overall stock or cryptocurrency market indices.

  • Ability to query for stock or cryptocurrency exchange rates –

    • Service should be able to provide exchange rates for a stock or cryptocurrency given its symbol.

  • Ability to query for stock or cryptocurrency futures –

    • Service should be able to provide futures data for a stock or cryptocurrency given its symbol.

  • Ability to query for stock or cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs) –

    • Service should be able to provide exchange-traded funds data for a stock or cryptocurrency given its symbol.
